Welcome to BottleNote. We care deeply about your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
BottleNote does not require you to create an account or log in. You can use the app entirely anonymously. However, we do collect certain non-personal data to improve the app experience, serve relevant advertisements, and process in-app purchases through the platform stores.
Because BottleNote has no login system, we do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, email addresses, or passwords. The data we process falls into these categories:
| Category | Examples | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Device Info | Device model, OS version, language, screen size | App compatibility & analytics | Anonymous |
| Usage Data | Screens visited, session duration, feature usage | Improve the experience | Anonymous |
| Crash Reports | Error logs, stack traces | Bug fixing & stability | Anonymous |
| Ad Identifiers | IDFA / GAID (if consented) | Personalised advertising | Opt-in |
| Purchase Records | Transaction ID, product purchased | Validate & restore purchases | Processed by Store |
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or any other sensitive personal data.
We use analytics tools to understand how users interact with BottleNote in aggregate. This helps us make better product decisions — for example, understanding which affirmations are most read or which screens users navigate to most.
Analytics data is aggregated and anonymised. We are unable to link any analytics event back to a specific individual. The analytics data we collect includes:
Session starts and ends, screen views and navigation paths, tap events on key UI elements, app version and device type, and crash or ANR (Application Not Responding) events.
You can opt out of analytics data collection at any time through your device's privacy settings or via the in-app privacy controls accessible from the Settings screen.
BottleNote is a free app supported partly by advertising. We work with trusted third-party ad networks to display ads within the app. The ads shown may be either contextual (based on the content of the app) or personalised (based on your interests, using your advertising ID).
Personalised advertising only occurs if you give explicit consent when prompted (in line with Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework on iOS and similar requirements on Android). If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalised contextual ads.
Our advertising partners may collect and process data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We only work with partners who are GDPR-compliant and who have signed Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with us. A current list of our ad partners is available on request at the contact address below.
BottleNote offers optional in-app purchases (such as Premium version) to access additional features. All payment transactions are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see, store, or process your payment card details or billing information.
When you make a purchase, the platform store provides us with a transaction receipt containing a transaction ID and the product identifier purchased. We use this solely to verify and restore your purchase within the app.
For purchase management, cancellations, and refunds, please refer directly to Apple orGoogle
Purchase receipts are stored on our European servers for up to 3 years for legal and accounting compliance, after which they are permanently deleted.
All data collected and processed by BottleNote is stored exclusively on servers located within the European Union. We do not transfer your data outside the EEA unless required by a third-party service (such as an ad network), in which case appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission — are in place.
| Data Type | Retention Period |
|---|---|
| Analytics events | 14 months, then aggregated permanently |
| Crash logs | 90 days |
| Purchase receipts | 3 years (legal requirement) |
| Ad consent records | Duration of consent + 1 year |
After retention periods expire, data is either anonymised beyond re-identification or permanently deleted from our systems using secure erasure methods.
BottleNote integrates with the following categories of third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy and, where required, has entered into a Data Processing Agreement with us:
| Category | Purpose | Data Shared |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics Provider | Usage analytics & crash reporting | Anonymous device & usage events |
| Ad Networks | Display advertisements | Ad ID (if consented), IP address |
| Apple App Store | IAP processing & receipt validation | Transaction receipts |
| Google Play | IAP processing & receipt validation | Transaction receipts |
We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not share your data with data brokers or for marketing purposes beyond the advertising described in Section 4.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable national law:

BottleNote does not engage in automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
